Health Care

The poverty cycle is a complex web of causes that imprisons entire communities for generations. While it is difficult to untangle all aspects of poverty, one thing jumps out: health conditions and access to health care play a significant role in a community’s poverty rate. Children in disadvantaged communities lack access to basic health essentials such as clean water and sanitation, which leads to the spread of preventable diseases and worse. Children frequently lag behind in school due to health concerns, and a lack of education leads to drug usage, early pregnancy, and gang affiliation.

Education

Children in many impoverished regions do not have access to an education. Some lack resources such as books or uniforms, causing children to fall behind without the help they need to catch up. Young people drop out of school to support their families and never return. And entire school systems are understaffed, making it impossible to educate the children that reside there. Involvement in drugs, gangs, and other risky behaviours is increased by a lack of knowledge. It’s simple to see how a lack of education can lead to a cycle of poverty. When you donate to our education initiatives, you are providing resources, tutoring programmes, and other services to children from kindergarten to high school and beyond.

Livelihood

The livelihood mandate works with women who work in smallholder agriculture, small businesses, or as farm or non-farm labour. We assist women develop secure and resilient livelihoods and climb out of poverty permanently by implementing a variety of innovative projects.
